Online training

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic we have had to cancel our classroom based training until it is safe for us to meet again. Whilst that training is on hold we have developed two online training options.

Option one: Online self-learning

This one hour online session is a short introduction to Better Conversations, running through some core communication skills and the opportunity for staff to reflect on their current practice.

By the end of the session staff will be able to:

  • Understand the key skills for a productive conversation.
  • Reflect on their own skills when communicating.

Option two: Online Zoom workshop

These 3 hour sessions provide staff the opportunity to reflect on how they’re feeling and what impact their conversations are having. Our approach focuses on how staff can support the public to be more actively involved in their own health and care, encouraging the collaborative conversations which are central to the way we want to communicate as a city.

Questions we consider:

  • How do you feel after a difficult conversation?
  • What matters most to you when building a relationship?
  • Where can you add value to your conversations?

If you work in health and care in Leeds, at any level, then this course is for you.
