Leeds is one of 25 NHS England Integrated Care ‘Pioneers’ – this means that we are national leaders in developing and testing new and different ways of joining up health and social care services.

We share expertise with other Pioneers to learn from each other’s best practice, enabling us to improve and transform the way health and care services are delivered.

Being a Pioneer also enables us to request national support from NHS England and central government to break down barriers and create the conditions needed to successfully improve and transform the way we deliver health and care services.

How Pioneer is making a difference in Leeds

Leeds has developed a suite of initiatives to use technology to help the city become a smarter, more connected and overall more compassionate city. This work was enabled in part by the Pioneer programme.
